Karma-Koma was born in December 2007. Organised and hosted by Uprooted Sunshine’s ChaCha and Drunk Monk, over the past year Karma-Koma has provided a monthly journey into the sounds of trip-hop, downbeat and abstract hiphop and has welcomed guests such as Shanghai’s own Zhong Chi and collaberated with Free The Wax to bring Australia’s Hermitude.
To celebrate one year of Karma-Koma, we are very proud to welcome special guests KBN from Taiwan.
KBN formed almost 10 years ago in Taipei and have been exploring experimental  electronic music and performing in Taiwan ever since. While the band’s first album/documentary—“Before 2005”—may perhaps most easily be described as downbeat or trip-hop, they’re more recent work builds upon that platform and extends further into the realm of experimental electronica.
Aswell as performing at music festivals such as Formoz (Taiwan), Spring Scream (Taiwan), Ho Hai Yan Rock Festival and the Midi Festival in Beijing, KBN also recently joined the SXSW tour in the US where there were the only Taiwanese act. They have also collaborated with Taiwanese filmmakers and there music has appeared in Times (directed by Hou Hsiao-Hsien), Reflection (directed by Yao Hung-Yi) and The Bean (directed by Wang Mei-Jung & Luo Chiao-Mei).
Performing a full live set, including brand new material, this will be KbN’s debut in Shanghai.
To support KbN and to celebrate Karma-Komas 1st birthday, Karma-Koma residents LON and R3 will both be preparing special live sets and the host of the evening, ChaCha, will be performing some of her latest tracks that she has produced for her forthcoming album.
Also available on the night will be the new Karma-Koma X Let'sTEE.com T-Shirt designed by Hei 'Er.

Karma-Koma 团队诞生于2007年12月初，由Uprooted Sunshine 的DJ Drunk Monk 和 ChaCha联手创办。在过去的一年中Karma-Koma坚持每月举办一次活动，音乐类型以 trip-hop，downbeat和abstract hip-hop为主，活动邀请过本土音乐人钟茌及其乐队更在今年10月与Free The Wax 联手请来了澳大利亚的音乐组合Hermitude。
为了庆祝Karma-Koma团队一周年生日，我们非常荣幸从台湾请来KBN为一直以来支持我们团队的乐迷朋友们做现场演绎。
KBN（凯比鸟乐队）在台湾成立至今已经差不多10年了，深谙试验电子的他们经常出现在台湾各种演出活动中。从他们的首张专辑/纪录片“Before 2005”中就已经很容易发现他们的音乐有明显 的downbeat 或trip-hop痕迹，而且近年来一直致力于将试验电子音乐的平台向更开阔的方向和更深的程度延展。
他们参加过各种大型的音乐节，比如台湾“Formoz”音乐节，台湾“春之呐喊”音乐节，“Ho Hai Yan”摇滚音乐节以及北京“MIDI”音乐节等。他们还在今年以唯一的台湾音乐人资格参加了美国2008德克萨斯SXSW音乐巡演。他们除了出过一张录音室专辑外更是与台湾的电影人联手为其创作电影音乐，届时大家也将欣赏到-《最好的时光》侯孝贤导演，《爱丽丝的镜子》姚宏易导演，《美人胚子》王梅蓉和骆巧梅导演。
这次KBN为在上海的首次登台做足准备，全现场演绎他们的音乐！！
为了Karma-Koma团队一周岁生日派对，除了KBN带来的全现场演出外，团队成员DJ LON和R3专门准备了特别的现场演出，整场主麦的ChaCha也将现场献唱她近期为即将问世的专辑制作的新歌。
另外特别感谢：Karma-koma周年纪念TEE由Let’sTEE.com 和设计师黑儿设计制作，karma-koma专有海报的设计者薄冰也和Let’sTEE.com 联合制作一款特别款TEE，都将于现场发售。感谢设计师Otorok设计了我们的LOGO以及所有支持过我们活动的朋友。
